The Gebze Technical University - Transportation Technologies Institute (GTU-UTE) was founded on October 21, 2014, under the authority of Law No. 6562, and it began operating in 2018.

With expertise across several engineering disciplines, the Transportation Technologies Institute seeks to perform research that delivers innovative, sustainable, autonomous, interoperable, and connectable solutions in the development of smart city and transportation technology. The Institute places priority on capacity building activities for contributing to local and national technical activities and university-industry collaboration. The Institute studies the difficulties in the field of transportation using its fundamental engineering expertise.

Our university's departments of Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, City and Regional Planning, and Geomatics/Mapping Engineering will work together to develop answers for the industry's and the country's demands.
